Giocoso, women's choir
Conductor: Rita Scheffers
From textile design to journalism, from speech therapy to orthopedagogy, the young ladies of Giocoso all have their own background and interests. Yet every week they travel from all over to their home base in Weert for their shared passion: singing.
Under the direction of conductor Rita Scheffers, they mainly perform (light) classical music. As conductor of various youth and women's choirs, Rita Scheffers has won various prizes at national and international festivals. Giocoso is part of the Midden-Limburg Choir School and last year the choir was appointed VNK-Limburg Inspiratiekoor (Foundation Verbindend Netwerk Koorzang).
Giocoso does not go unnoticed within the choir world. The choir sings at top level both nationally and internationally. Their most notable achievement is their participation in the European Choir Games and the Grand Prix of Nations in Gothenburg (Sweden). The ladies became European champions in two categories in August 2019 and took no fewer than four gold medals back to the Netherlands.
